Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) starts life a linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid, similar to flax/linseed oil and other oils. It has two double bonds, but when you subject it to any number of chemical reactions, the double bonds shift so that they're only separated by one bond. The molecule that results is known as a conjugated fatty acid (CLA).
CLA contains around 20 different isomers which have differing types and levels of effect, however the most interesting isomers are cis 9 trans 11 and trans 10 cis 12. The product available here is made of a 50/50 mix of the two isomers.
