"Bands are a great tool but are not neccesary. If I were you, I would be more in tuned with making sure my form and technique were good, trying to recognize my weaknesses and strengthening them. Down the road you might want to introduce bands to your training because they are beneficial. I just think now it would be best for you to hit the fundamentals.
Before training at Westside Barbell I did all my DE work without a suit, bands or chains. I made great strength gains. When I was introduced to bands, the stress that that it put my body under had me wearing my equipment more in training which, down the road, had a negative effect on my smaller muscle groups. I train with no equipment now and I have found that I injure myself more often. There is something to be said about sticking to the basics.
Good luck."
